Reps. Bradley Schneider, D-Ill., and David McKinley, R-W.Va., today introduced the Medicare Sequester COVID Moratorium Act, AHA-supported legislation that would extend the moratorium on the Medicare sequester cuts through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The previously passed Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act eliminated the 2% Medicare sequester cuts through 2020, but many hospitals and other providers continue to experience significant financial challenges during the pandemic, the organizations said in a recent letter urging Congress to extend the moratorium.
