Erica Schwartz confirmed by Senate as new CDC director
The Senate Aug. 5 voted 51-44 to confirm Erica Schwartz as the new director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Schwartz was previously deputy surgeon general during the first Trump administration.
